A photo trip to the Opal coast in northern France – May 2023

My most recent trip was together with Fotografie-reizen.nl to the Opal coast in northern France. With an enthusiastic group of photographers and two professional trainers: Ron Buist and Eddy Reynecke we explored the region to find nice spot for photography. Although the weather was not really cooperative, the pictures proved to be nice. Especially the High Key pictures and the wreckage and the mussel poles on the beach were interesting objects that begged to be photographed. So enjoy and let me know what you think of it. Enjoy! Rob.

The wreckage on the beach on the Opal Coast really creates an uncanny feeling: so beware of going there after sun set!
The skies above the Opal coast are really amazing, so a visit to the beach after sun set is a must.

The "High Key" effect is sometimes erroneously pronounced as Haiki with reference to the well known Haiku (Japanese short poem. This often leads to misunderstandings.
After dark on the beach, in combination with a heavy wind together with mist, is a recipe for a sour throat. So the advice is: dress up warm and cosy before having a photo session on the Opal coast by night.
